Southern California, including San Diego, to have visibility of SpaceX launch

Residents along the West Coast, including Southern California, may have the chance to observe the upcoming SpaceX rocket launch on Monday evening. The Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled to lift off from Vandenberg Space Force Base, located in Santa Barbara County.

The launch aims to place additional Starlink satellites into orbit. Starlink is described as the worlds most advanced satellite network, utilizing low Earth orbit to provide broadband internet access.

Launch Timing and Viewing

The Falcon 9 is expected to launch at 9:28 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, with a launch window extending for four hours. A complete schedule of upcoming SpaceX launches can be found on the companys official website.

This mission will release 27 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit. Since Vandenberg is an active military installation, public access to the launch site is prohibited. Nonetheless, if weather conditions are clear, observers in San Diego County may be able to see the rocket as it ascends.

A live broadcast of the launch is planned to start approximately five minutes before liftoff and will be available on SpaceXs website or via its X/Twitter account.
