The excitement of Miami Art Week hit South Beach on Tuesday evening as Marco Brambilla unveiled his latest work, After Utopia, at The WolfsonianFIU. The event, co-presented by Golden Goose, drew an eclectic mix of artists, fashion insiders, and digital creatives.
Guests enjoyed the museum's main floor, sampling hors doeuvres and sipping from mini Don Julio 1942 bottles while music played from a live DJ. The celebration continued into Golden Gooses Dream Makers space, where visitors could watch artisans screen-print special-edition posters inspired by Brambillas installation, available in striking red and blue designs.
On the seventh floor, Brambillas installation was projected across three screens, forming an AI-generated, ascending collage of Worlds Fair pavilions from 1889 through 2025. Attendees included renowned photographer Ellen von Unwerth, artists Sarah Morris, Pegah Farahmand, Kozo, gallerist Jay Jopling, and notable creators, athletes, and influencers like Twan Kuyper, Josh Richardson, Dale Moss, Myles ONeal, and Camila Coelho, who wore a head-to-toe Golden Goose ensemble.
Coelho described her outfit as evoking a schoolgirl vibe, pairing a crystal-embellished bomber jacket and pleated miniskirt from Golden Gooses Journey collection with black motorcycle boots, noting how she plans to wear them at her ranch in Brazil. Splitting her time between Brazil and Miami, she praised the citys vibrant energy, sunny beaches, and convenient travel connections.
Her connection with Golden Goose began in her early teens, recalling her first pair of the brands sneakers at age 14 or 15. She also shared a personal memory of her sons first personalized Golden Goose shoes. At the event, she acquired a limited-edition blue print from Brambillas installation for her sons room.
Brambilla reflected on the two-year journey behind After Utopia, explaining his fascination with world expositions and visions of the future. The introduction of AI technology allowed him to revive forgotten elements from historical expositions, turning them into a futuristic collage.
Having participated in Art Basel Miami Beach for years, Brambilla noted how the event has evolved from intimate early shows to a globalized art circuit, observing smaller, unique exhibitions like Jack Piersons recent presentation.
