Jimmy Choo Makes a Statement at Miami Art Week with Oversized Silver Chrome Shoe

Colossal Statement: Jimmy Choo has partnered with Harry Nuriev, the founder and creative director of Crosby Studios, to present an enormous silver chrome shoe at the brands Design District boutique during Miami Art Week. The installation, more than just immersive, showcases a giant shoe seemingly bursting through the storefront, immediately drawing attention to the boutique.

The 3D sculpture is a supersized version of the Ixia drop heel pump, crafted in gleaming silver chrome. Designed to blur the line between interior and exterior spaces, the piece encourages visitors to reimagine Jimmy Choos design philosophy. The boutique floor has been painted to mimic shattered glass, while walls display a curated selection from creative director Sandra Chois personal shoe archive, emphasizing the brands craftsmanship, legacy, and evolving aesthetic.

Nuriev commented, This work examines the tension between monumental scale and intimacy. It uses exaggerated forms to explore ideas of power, transformation, and the passage of time. At its heart, it celebrates the connection between past and future through the strength and vision of women. He specifically acknowledged the brands female leadership team, including Choi and CEO Hannah Colman.

Choi added, Harry challenges perceptions in unexpected ways. His installation honors artistry and craft while referencing our iconic designs in a dynamic and striking manner.

The exhibit, open through Sunday, marks the latest collaboration between Jimmy Choo and Crosby Studios, which began in 2023 with a pop-up in Paris and continued with a reimagined Ginza boutique interior. Earlier this year, Nuriev also presented a thought-provoking, site-specific installation at Jimmy Choos flagship in Milan, featuring a glass capsule filled with shoes arranged along a historical timeline, evoking a runway frozen in time.
