Delta Air Lines announced on Friday that its flights at Detroit Metropolitan Airport have resumed following a brief halt caused by a technical connectivity problem. The airline provided a travel waiver for passengers flying through Detroit on Friday and Saturday.
Flight data from FlightAware showed that 36 flights were canceled and 97 experienced delays. Detroit Metropolitan Airport confirmed that the disruption affected only Delta flights.
As one of Deltas largest hubs, Detroit offers connections to 106 destinations worldwide. The temporary ground stop is an air traffic control procedure that suspends departures from an airport or region, typically due to safety, operational, or weather-related concerns.
Delta expressed regret for the disruption and thanked passengers for their patience while its teams worked to restore normal operations safely.
