Ex-teacher confesses to committing sexual crimes against teenager

Alan Falle, 35, who previously led the sixth form at Victoria College in Jersey, has admitted to committing sexual offences against a young person. He appeared at Jersey Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, where he pled guilty to twelve counts under the Abuse of Position of Trust, Sexual Offences legislation, involving someone aged 16 or 17.

Falle has been held in custody ahead of his sentencing, scheduled for March.

In a message to parents and guardians, Susana Rowles, chair of the Victoria College Board of Governors, stated that while the case does not involve current students, the gravity of the offences and the effect on the young person involved remain significant.

Rowles emphasized the need to avoid speculation about the case due to ongoing legal proceedings, in order to safeguard the identity of the victim.

The board confirmed that any students affected by the news can access support through pastoral care or counselling services.

The Children, Young People, Education and Skills Department said it is monitoring the situation and collaborating closely with States of Jersey Police. Both authorities noted that they cannot provide further comments at this time because the case is still before the courts.
