Disruption caused by rain in the South West

South-west England is currently experiencing severe weather, with strong gusts and heavy rainfall affecting the region, particularly Devon and Cornwall. The adverse conditions have caused multiple trees to fall, prompting authorities to advise drivers to consider alternative routes.

Highways England reported several incidents: a fallen tree on Bodmin Street near Holsworthy, another partially obstructing the B3165, and a tree hanging over the road connecting to the A383 near Bickington.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for rain covering Devon and Cornwall from 00:01 GMT on Monday until 03:00 GMT on Tuesday.
