Children contribute to the redesign of the leisure center.

The landscape design for the 110 million refurbishment of Fort Regent leisure centre will involve input from children, the Jersey Development Company has announced. London-based Spacehub Design has been appointed to lead the project following a competitive selection process.

The redevelopment plans feature a variety of outdoor amenities including a pump track, skate park, ball court, parkour area, bouldering section, and a dedicated children's play garden.

From 1 to 3 December, Spacehub Design will collaborate with the Fort Regent team to hold workshops with children and young people, gathering their ideas to help shape the outdoor spaces. Sixteen primary schools will participate in morning sessions, while five secondary schools will attend afternoon sessions at Highlands College. Additional smaller workshops will be held with La Passerelle and Mont l'Abb School.

Students will have the opportunity to present their suggestions directly to the landscape architect, feeding into a planning application expected in March.
