Israeli forces fatally shoot two Palestinians suspected of carrying out attacks in the West Bank

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Tuesday that two Palestinians suspected of carrying out attacks were killed in the West Bank. In one instance, soldiers responded to intelligence near Ramallah regarding a potential threat. According to the IDF, the individual allegedly stabbed Israeli troops upon their arrival, prompting soldiers to open fire. The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that the man was 18 years old. Emergency service Magen David Adom reported that two young men sustained minor injuries during the incident.

In another case, the IDF reported that a Palestinian was killed overnight after a suspected car-ramming incident in the Hebron region, which left an Israeli soldier injured. Security forces traced the suspect to a vehicle he allegedly used to strike Israeli personnel the previous evening. The suspect attempted to flee and posed a threat, leading soldiers to fatally shoot him. The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the deceased as 17 years old.

Violence in the occupied West Bank has intensified since the outbreak of the Gaza conflict following the October 7, 2023 attacks on Israel. Data from the Palestinian Health Ministry indicate that at least 1,019 Palestinians have died due to Israeli military operations, armed clashes, and attacks in the West Bank. Additionally, attacks on Palestinians by radical Israeli settlers are reportedly on the rise.
