Woman killed in lorry accident

A 54-year-old woman tragically passed away after being hit by a lorry in County Armagh on Wednesday. Aileen Mary Finch, a resident of the Markethill area, was confirmed dead at the hospital on Friday following the incident.

Authorities reported that the collision occurred on Gosford Road shortly after 10:20 GMT on Wednesday morning. Emergency services quickly responded, and the woman was transported to the hospital for urgent care.

Colleagues at Markethill Primary School, where Ms. Finch was employed, expressed their heartfelt condolences, noting that she will be fondly remembered. "She always greeted everyone with a warm smile and cheerful hello. Aileen approached every task willingly and never complained," the school shared on social media.

Ch Insp Simpson of the Police Service of Northern Ireland stated that investigations into the crash are ongoing. "We urge anyone who saw the collision or has any video footage that might aid our inquiry to get in touch with the Collision Investigation Unit," he added.
