Authorities reported that the vehicle involved was a small, dark-colored car. The woman was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Police have closed the road to carry out investigations and are actively searching for the vehicle responsible. Motorists are advised to avoid the area while inquiries continue.
