Seeking Comments on Air License Applications

The public is invited to provide feedback on three air licence applications concerning transport services in the Channel Islands. Guernsey's Transport Licensing Authority (TLA) is consulting on licences for key routes connecting Gatwick, Alderney, and Southampton, as well as a new essential route from Jersey scheduled to launch on 15 January.

Deputy John Gollop, president of the TLA, noted that recent developments in Guernsey's air travel sector have led to a "significant change for passengers."

Two of the consultations are due to close on Friday, while the consultation on Loganair's Guernsey-Jersey route will remain open until 15 December.

The current air licence applications under review are:

  • Loganair's proposal to operate scheduled passenger and cargo services between Guernsey and Southampton
  • Aurigny's proposal for scheduled passenger and cargo services between Guernsey and Jersey
  • Loganair's proposal for scheduled passenger and cargo services between Guernsey and Jersey

Gollop emphasized the importance of public input and expressed hope that the TLA would receive comments from "as many people as possible." Feedback can be submitted in writing or via email.
