Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Russell Hornsby & DeVon Franklin Join Ensemble Cast for 'Tis So Sweet'

Taraji P. Henson is set to star alongside a talented ensemble in Netflixs upcoming faith-centered film Tis So Sweet, produced by Tyler Perry and DeVon Franklin. The cast features Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor (King Richard, Ray), Russell Hornsby (The Hate U Give, Fences), Alexis Louder (Copshop), Semaj Prather, Arischa Conner, Angela Davis (Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, The Good Daughter), Caroline Avery Granger (Cobra Kai), Tasha Smith, and DeVon Franklin. Previously announced cast member Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott, known as Joey Bada$$, also joins the project.

The film reunites Henson and Ellis-Taylor, who previously shared the screen in Blitz Bazawules musical adaptation of The Color Purple. Hornsby and Henson have also collaborated before on the film Something New, while Davis and Henson appeared together in Peacocks Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, created by Shaye Ogbonna.

Written by Randy Brown and inspired by the true story of Lenore Lindsey, Tis So Sweet follows a Chicago bakery owner, played by Henson, who discovers a life-changing revelation. This event prompts her to reconnect with lost time, heal past wounds, and embrace the unexpected blessings of life.

This project marks the second faith-based film produced under the collaboration between Perry, Franklin, and Netflix. Their first film, Ruth & Boaz, featuring Serayah, Tyler Lepley, and Phylicia Rashad, premiered on September 26 and reached #2 on the Global Top 10 Movies List (English).

Executive producers include Tony Strickland and Angi Bones for Tyler Perry Studios, with Tasha Smith directing the film.
