An elderly woman in her 80s sustained severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle at a zebra crossing in Sunningdale, Berkshire. The accident took place on Friday around 16:15 GMT.
Thames Valley Police confirmed that the driver responsible fled the scene on the A30 London Road, situated between Bracknell and Ascot. Authorities have not yet identified the car involved, though it is believed to be a small silver vehicle.
PC Anthony Gibson from the Roads Policing Unit commented: "This collision happened on a pedestrian crossing and has resulted in serious injuries. We urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage from the area to come forward."
The woman continues to receive treatment in hospital for her serious injuries.
