'Malcom in the Middle: Life is still unfair' Sneak Peek Pays Tribute to the Original Series

Hulu has unveiled the first glimpse of its upcoming Malcom in the Middle revival, Malcom in the Middle: Life's Still Unfair. The teaser offers a nostalgic nod to the original series, recreating a memorable moment from the pilot where Hal, played by Bryan Cranston, has his back shaved by Lois, portrayed by Jane Kaczmarek. In the new teaser, a similar scene unfolds, with the shaved hair forming the revivals logo.

The Instagram caption for the teaser reads: "Some things never change. #MalcolmInTheMiddle Life's Still Unfair, a special four-part event, streams 2026."

The revival is set to be a four-episode event, arriving on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ in 2026. It follows Malcolm, now played by Frankie Muniz, who has spent over a decade protecting himself and his daughter from his family. According to the official synopsis, Malcolm is pulled back into the family chaos when Hal and Lois insist he attend their 40th anniversary celebration.

Returning cast members include Chris Kennedy Masterson as Francis, Justin Berfield as Reese, and Emy Coligado as Piama. New additions for this series are Keeley Karsten as Leah, Malcolms daughter; Vaughan Murrae as Kelly, his youngest sibling; Kiana Madeira as Tristan, Malcolms girlfriend; and Caleb Ellsworth-Clark as Dewey.
