NKOTB's Joey McIntyre Embraces 1950s Crooner Style for the Holidays

Joey McIntyre is closing out 2025 with a tribute to golden-era holiday music, stepping into the smooth style of 1950s and 1960s vocal legends. On Thursday, he began a monthlong run as the lead host of Tinselcolor: Holiday Soundtracks Live at CineVita in Los Angeles, with performances continuing through December 30.

The production features McIntyre performing festive songs from beloved films such as Its a Wonderful Life, Home Alone, and Love Actually, while channeling the timeless charm of Frank Sinatra and iconic holiday crooners. He described the show as a dreamlike experience in a lavish venue that captures the magic of classic Christmas celebrations.

December marks a packed schedule for McIntyre, who also returns to television in the Roku movie Jingle Bell Wedding. Although he originally planned for a quiet holiday break with his wife and children following the first leg of New Kids on the Blocks Las Vegas residency, he eagerly accepted the invitation to headline the Christmas production at the world-renowned Spiegeltent venue.

Sharing the stage with a full cast of 22 musicians and performers, including Cheyenne Isabel Wells and Brian Justin Crum, McIntyre noted that joining such a vocally diverse ensemble challenged him to master detailed harmonies and elevate his performance craft.

Looking ahead, 2026 will mark his 40th year in the music industry. Alongside his continued work with New Kids on the Block, he co-wrote tracks for the groups 2024 album Still Kids, and the band will expand their Las Vegas residency with 24 additional shows running from February through October.

Beyond music, McIntyre continues to explore theater. Following roles in Wicked, Waitress, and last years Drag: The Musical, he plans to appear in a full staging of Radio Galaxy, where hell portray a New Jersey father facing a life-changing family revelation.

For McIntyre, the stage remains his creative anchor. He said he values connecting with audiences who may not know him solely from his pop career, embracing new artistic chapters while honoring the genres and traditions that shaped his love for performing.
