'Platonic' Secures Season 3 on Apple TV+

Apple TV+ has officially renewed the comedy series Platonic for a third season. The show stars Rose Byrne as Sylvia and Seth Rogen as Will, who portray lifelong friends reconnecting after a difficult separation, maintaining their platonic bond. Both Byrne and Rogen also serve as executive producers alongside creators Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco.

Co-creators Stoller and Delbanco shared their excitement, stating: We are thrilled to return to the world of Platonic with our incredible collaborators, Rose, Seth, Sony, and Apple.

The second season concluded with Sylvia joining Will as the public face of his new bar venture, following complications with his former fiance and boss, restaurant CEO Jenna, and a non-compete clause from his previous employment.

Apple TV programming head Matt Cherniss praised the series progress, commenting: Nick and Francesca achieved something rare by elevating the show in season two, and together with our partners at Sony, we are eager to see what they bring in season three.

There is no official information yet regarding the cast for the upcoming season. Season two featured returning actors Luke Macfarlane and Carla Gallo and introduced guest stars including Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, Beck Bennett, and Milo Manheim.

Platonic is produced by Sony Pictures Television under Stollers Global Solutions deal, with executive producers Byrne, Stoller, Delbanco, Conor Welch, Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver through Point Grey Pictures. Rogen also stars in Apple TVs comedy series The Studio, while Byrne appears in the dark comedy Physical.
