Rachel Sennott hosted The Hollywood Reporters Women in Entertainment breakfast gala on Wednesday, presented by Lifetime. In her opening speech, the creator and star of I Love LA humorously reflected on what it means to make it as a woman in Hollywood, sharing experiences that ranged from quirky photoshoots to speaking at womens events.
Sennott recounted a memorable mishap when she unintentionally walked into a womens tech summit. I thought I was here for a photoshoot, but it turned out to be a gathering of women in technology. Everyone was welcoming, and it was amazing to see how women build such supportive communities, she said, emphasizing the value of creating spaces that uplift all women.
The morning featured a lineup of inspiring speakers, including Dakota Johnson, Goldie Hawn, Regina Hall, Chase Infiniti, Jimmy Kimmel, and Molly McNearney. Gwyneth Paltrow was awarded the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award, while Jennifer Lopez received the Equity in Entertainment Award, presented by Kerry Washington, who had been honored with the same award in 2023.
In addition, around 30 high school juniors and seniors involved in THRs Women in Entertainment Mentorship Program attended the event. The program connects young women from underrepresented schools in Los Angeles with leading female executives in film and television.
The breakfast gala was supported by Delta Air Lines, Medicube, Reyka Vodka, and Seven Bucks Productions, in collaboration with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles, Entertainment Industry Foundation, Gersh, Chapman University, and Loyola Marymount University.
Earlier this year, Sennotts HBO series I Love LA premiered, following the lives of an ambitious friend group navigating love and careers in Los Angeles. The series has already been renewed for a second season, marking another milestone in Sennotts rapidly growing career.

The Women in Entertainment breakfast gala, hosted by Rachel Sennott, highlighted the evolving landscape of support and recognition for women in Hollywood. Sennott’s reflections on her experiences, from unexpected tech summits to quirky photoshoots, underscore the importance of inclusive spaces where women can thrive professionally.
The presence of prominent figures like Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lopez, and Dakota Johnson, alongside mentorship opportunities for high school students, reinforces the gala’s dual focus on celebrating established talent while fostering the next generation of female leaders in the industry.
Events like this not only honor individual achievements but also demonstrate a broader commitment within Hollywood to equity, community, and visibility for women. Sennott’s growing success, including the renewal of her HBO series I Love LA, serves as a tangible example of how platforms and mentorship can accelerate careers while amplifying diverse voices.
