RHOSLC Star Mary Cosby's Son Robert Jr. Admits to Eight Charges, Will Stay in Prison During Christmas

Robert Cosby Jr., son of "Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" star Mary Cosby, will not be celebrating the holidays at home. He has pleaded guilty to eight charges following a disruptive incident at his in-laws residence and has been in custody since November 9. Following the plea, he will remain incarcerated for several more months.

Robert faced allegations including assault and trespassing after visiting his in-laws home despite an active protective order filed by his wife, Alexiana Smokoff. Authorities reported that during the visit, Robert damaged his mother-in-laws vehicle, threw a rock through a window, and harmed the exterior of the house. When law enforcement arrived, he resisted arrest and allegedly bit an officer, leading to him being tased and taken into custody.

Court records indicate that Robert originally faced 14 charges. On November 25, he admitted guilt to eight of them, which include a felony count of property damage exceeding $5,000. The remaining charges are misdemeanors, covering violations of the protective order, assault on a peace officer, breach of a jail release order, criminal trespass with intent to cause fear or injury, and a Class B misdemeanor assault. His sentencing is scheduled for February 3.

Roberts wife has filed for divorce amid the ongoing legal matters. His attorney stated that Robert is acknowledging his actions and their consequences. According to the lawyer, Roberts recent behavior was influenced by the breakdown of his marriage and his deeply held religious beliefs regarding the sanctity of marriage. The lawyer explained that Robert struggled to accept the end of his marriage, having been influenced by his parents long-lasting union, but has now taken responsibility for his actions and pleaded guilty to multiple charges.
