Robyn enlists Jamie xx for a new remix of 'Dopamine'

Robyns energetic return single, Dopamine, has been revitalized through a fresh remix by Jamie xx. Bringing his distinctive style, Jamie transforms the original tracks driving four-on-the-floor rhythm into jittery, U.K. jungle-inspired beats, while enhancing the already pulsating synth textures with additional layers and intricate details.

This new version of Dopamine represents the second collaboration between Robyn and Jamie xx. The duo previously worked together on the song Life, featured on Jamies latest solo project, In Waves.

Released in November, Dopamine marked Robyns first solo single of original material since her 2018 album, Honey. The track was produced alongside her longtime collaborator Klas hlund. Robyn described the song as an exploration of intense emotion, stating that it captures both the profound physical response in the body and the experience of fully embracing those feelings without needing to label them through religion or science.

Since Honey, Robyn has participated in multiple collaborations, including work with SG Lewis, Channel Tres, Jnsi, Smile, the Lonely Island, and Beck. She has also contributed to Lordes Solar Power and a Charli XCX remix featuring Yung Lean, and in 2022, covered Neneh Cherrys Buffalo Stance with Maipei.

Robyn recently returned to live performances, appearing at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles, and has a New Years Eve show scheduled at the Paramount in Brooklyn. No further solo material or album announcements have been confirmed yet.
