Scarlett Johansson Shares That Her Relationship With Colin Jost Started in a "Weird" Way

Scarlett Johansson appeared on Today this morning, recounting an unusual story about how her romance with Colin Jost began. The actress and the Saturday Night Live comedian have been married since 2020, but their first encounter dates back to 2006, with dating starting over a decade later in 2017.

During a segment on the show, Johansson opened up about a "weird" moment from their initial date. My first date with Colin, honestly, nobody ever really asked me out before, she told anchor Jenna Bush Hager. I was a serial monogamist and I just never got the traditional, Hey, would you like to have dinner sometime?"

Jost invited Johansson to dinner at an Italian restaurant in New Yorks East Village in 2017. It was a lovely date, Johansson recalled. We had dinner at 8 p.m., and afterwards, he said, Im meeting friends, lets go grab a drink. I hadnt really dated before, so I said, I have to go now. I need to leave."

She continued, I got home to relieve my babysitter, and it was like 9:36, and she was like, Why are you home?! I felt so flustered. Johansson added that Jost later admitted, I totally thought that was it. You were acting so weird. I panicked. I dont know.

Before marrying Jost, Johansson had two previous marriages: with Ryan Reynolds from 2008 to 2011, and with journalist Romain Dauriac from 2014 to 2017.

In other appearances, Johansson recently drew attention in New York City for wearing a modern twist on the early 2000s bandage dress. She appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in a strapless, ribbed black Balmain dress, accessorized with a bold belt, layered bangles, a matching collar, and multiple small hoop earrings. Her outfit was completed with satin open-toe stilettos. Johansson wore her dirty blonde hair straight, paired with rosy blush and a deep red lip.
