Sofia Coppola's daughter Romy Mars responds to online comments about her breasts: 'I just turned 19'

Romy Mars, actress and singer, and the daughter of filmmaker Sofia Coppola and Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars, has spoken out about inappropriate online comments regarding her appearance.

In a recent TikTok video, Mars addressed remarks on an older clip where viewers speculated that she had undergone breast augmentation. "Many comments on a video I posted a while back kept asking, 'Oh my god, are those new?' referring to my breasts," she said. "I answered that they werent, yet people still claimed, 'No, shes lying. She got a boob job.'"

Mars expressed disappointment at the disbelief, emphasizing the personal nature of the topic. "Ive always been transparent online, sharing so much of my life, and its disheartening that people dont accept my honesty about something so intimate," she explained.

She continued, "It makes me uncomfortable that adults and teenagers alike comment that my breasts are fake. Ive never had any procedures done. Please stop saying that."

Highlighting her age, Mars said, "I just turned 19. My body changes naturallysometimes my breasts grow or shrink. Its due to things like birth control and simply being 19. Ive never visited a plastic surgeon."

She ended the video with a playful defiant gesture, sticking her tongue out at critics. Her followers responded with supportive comments, emphasizing understanding for her as a young woman. One user wrote, "Like, youre a growing teenage girl, hello?" Another added, "Its strange how people feel entitled to comment on womens bodies," while a third remarked, "Why do people think they know more about you than you do?"

Earlier in 2024, in a Teen Vogue interview promoting her role on the TV comedy The English Teacher, Mars reflected on a different challenge. "I think about nepotism a lot," she shared. "There are so many incredibly talented people. I have access to opportunities because of my family, and I try to remain aware of my privilege and grateful for the chances I get."
