Sydney Sweeney Changes Her Blunt Bob in Latest Hair Transformation

Sydney Sweeney has revealed a nostalgic new hairstyle that marks a striking departure from her signature blunt bob. The 28-year-old debuted voluminous Old Hollywood curls at the Dec. 2 screening of her latest film The Housemaid in New York, arriving on the red carpet with soft, bouncy waves that fell just below her shoulders.

Keeping her iconic blonde shade, Sydney embraced a 1970s-inspired aesthetic that extended beyond her curls. She completed the look with a shimmering silver Miu Miu gown, a white feather boa, and diamond-accented earrings. Her co-star Amanda Seyfried complemented the retro vibe with a wavy side part and a plunging pink Versace dress.

The dramatic makeover comes after months of Sydney showcasing her short bob, which she previously introduced ahead of her role as boxer Christy Martin in the biopic Christy. She last wore the cut with flipped ends at Varietys 2025 Power of Women event, where she discussed how preparing for the physically demanding role strengthened both her craft and her confidence.

Reflecting on the transformation required for the film, Sydney shared that she underwent an intense three-and-a-half-month regimen involving heavy strength training and kickboxing sessions, along with a carb-focused diet that ultimately led to a 30-pound gain. She admitted the process pushed her beyond her comfort zone but left her feeling stronger than ever.

Sydneys latest appearance marks yet another bold shift in a year defined by standout celebrity hair transformations.
