Dec. 5 Singer Jessie J, known for her hit "Domino," has opened up about her experience with breast cancer and her memorable encounter with Catherine, Princess of Wales. The 37-year-old discussed her journey during an appearance on Good Morning America Friday.

"I wasn't afraid. I just felt a bit out of control. But I am someone who shares, and I wasn't going to stay home and cry," Jessie J said. "This experience has given me a new perspective, and now I'm embracing the moment and truly enjoying life."

She previously documented her journey, including a mastectomy on her right breast, on Instagram, emphasizing the importance of open conversations about cancer. "I feel it's necessary to talk about these things," she added.

Jessie J also spoke about connecting with Princess Kate, who went public with her cancer diagnosis in 2024 and announced her remission in January. "I wanted to acknowledge her as a fellow mother and cancer survivor. I asked if I could give her a hug, and she said, 'Of course you can,'" she shared.

In another interview on This Morning, Jessie J revealed she had been advised against hugging the royal. "But I saw a mother who also faced cancer publicly, and I just wanted to embrace her. It was that simple," she said.

Princess Kate and Prince William are parents to Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7. Jessie J and her partner Chanan Safir Colman have a 2-year-old son, Sky.

Jessie J recently released her latest album, Don't Tease Me with a Good Time, on November 28.
