The Hallmark Channel has officially confirmed that "When Calls the Heart" will return for Season 14, even before the premiere of its upcoming Season 13. Fans will also be thrilled to hear that original cast member Lori Loughlin is set to reprise her role as Abigail Stanton.

Loughlin will feature in six of the twelve episodes, which is half of the new season, with her episodes scheduled to air in 2027. Michelle Vicary, Hallmark Medias head of programming, shared in a statement that Abigail Stanton has always been a fan favorite. She emphasized that the themes of hope, positivity, and connection are central to both the Hallmark brand and the series itself, making Season 14 the perfect moment to continue Abigail's story.

Background on Lori Loughlin's Departure

Abigail Stanton was previously written out of the series midway through Season 6, following Lori Loughlin's involvement in the 2019 college admissions scandal. Consequently, Hallmark temporarily paused the show and removed Loughlins scenes from the remaining seven episodes of that season.

Within the storyline, Abigail left Hope Valley to care for her ailing mother, taking her adopted son Cody with her. She later made a brief return two years afterward on the spinoff "When Hope Calls".

Looking Ahead

Season 13 is set to premiere on Sunday, January 4, at 8 p.m., and will also feature the return of series veteran Brooke Shields as Jack's mother, Charlotte Thornton, for a three-episode arc.
