Donald Trump Allegedly Dozes Off During Cabinet Meeting

Concerns about President Donald Trumps energy levels resurfaced after he appeared to drift into sleep several times during a recent Cabinet gathering. The 79-year-old repeatedly closed his eyes while senior officials presented their updates, renewing questions about his overall stamina and daily habits.

According to video reviewed by The Washington Post, Trumps eyes were either shut or struggling to stay open during nine separate moments, totaling nearly six minutes throughout the two-hour-and-seventeen-minute meeting. This marked the second public instance within a month in which he seemed noticeably drowsy, following a similar episode in the Oval Office on November 6, where he appeared to fight off sleep for nearly twenty minutes.

The meeting came after a night of heavy online activity from Trump. Between 10 p.m. and midnight, he posted or shared nearly 150 items on Truth Social, and he was active again by 5:30 a.m. Despite this, he claimed early in the meeting, Right now, I think Im sharper than I was 25 years ago, while also repeating his frequent jab at former President Joe Biden, calling him Sleepy Joe.

At one point, as Secretary of State Marco Rubio described what he called the most transformational year in American foreign policy since the end of the Second World War, Trump leaned forward and kept his eyes closed, even while Rubio discussed subjects the president has historically shown strong interest in.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt did not confirm whether Trump had fallen asleep, stating instead that he was paying close attention and directing the entire discussion. She also pointed to what she described as his strong closing remarks at the subsequent press conference, during which Trump criticized Somali migrants.

Later that day, Trump appeared fully energized during a 40-minute rollout of new Trump accounts. Senator Ted Cruz remarked afterward, I dont think [Trump] sleeps at all.
