FIFA Awards Trump a Peace Prize Specifically Designed for Him

At the 2026 World Cup draw on Friday, FIFA presented President Donald Trump with its inaugural FIFA Peace Prize, featuring a gold medal and an impressive trophy, seemingly designed specifically for him after missing out on the Nobel Peace Prize earlier this year.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino praised Trump while presenting the award, describing it as recognition for his remarkable contributions to global peace and unity.

Before Trumps appearance, a video highlighted his leadership, portraying him as a proactive diplomat fostering dialogue, reducing tensions, and promoting stability, while leveraging football as a unifying global force.

When asked about the award earlier in the day, Trump reiterated his controversial claim of having resolved eight wars.

During a brief acceptance speech, Trump called the award a tremendous honor and shifted to promoting ticket sales for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, claiming record-breaking numbers.

FIFAs close ties with Trump were evident, with Infantino once allowing him to keep the 24-karat gold-plated Club World Cup trophy, giving the tournaments actual winners only a replica.

This year, the Nobel Peace Prize went to Venezuelan opposition leader Mara Corina Machado, whom Trump claimed had personally told him she accepted the prize in his honor.

The award comes amid growing scrutiny over alleged war crimes linked to his administration during an attack on suspected drug traffickers in September and the recent pardon of a former Honduran president convicted of major drug offenses.
