Mark Kelly Exposes Intense and Aggressive Threats Following Trump's Attack

Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) disclosed that he has been subjected to disturbing and violent threats since former President Donald Trump suggested that he and other Democrats should be arrested and put on trial.

We now face more threats in a single day than we used to receive over several months. They are graphic and violent, directed not only at me but also at Gabby, and we are no strangers to political violence, Kelly said during an interview with CNNs Erin Burnett on Tuesday.

Kellys wife, Gabby Giffords, survived a shooting attack in 2011. The threats escalated after Trump called for Kelly and other political figures to face trial following the release of a video in which they urged military and intelligence personnel not to follow illegal orders. These officials, all with military or intelligence backgrounds, argued that the U.S. Constitution was under threat and warned against attempts to pit the military against citizens.

Kelly criticized the normalization of violent political rhetoric, highlighting that Trump himself had been nearly assassinated and should be aware of the dangers of such statements. He didnt even wait until Thanksgiving before calling for our execution. Has any U.S. president ever called for the death of Congress members? This must not become normal, Kelly said.

Kelly emphasized that he would not be intimidated by Trump or by threats of court-martial from figures like Pete Hegseth. He stressed that the focus should shift to pressing issues affecting Americans, such as healthcare costs and grocery expenses. The president should concentrate on matters that truly impact everyday Americans, rather than creating fear, he added.
