MTG reveals Trump's anger over her support for releasing Epstein Files

Marjorie Taylor Greene revealed that Donald Trump became furious with her after she pushed for the full release of government records tied to Jeffrey Epstein. The far-right congresswoman spoke about the clash during an upcoming CBS News 60 Minutes interview with Lesley Stahl.

Greene explained that Trump confronted her after she joined a small group of Republicans supporting a petition to make all Epstein files public. We discussed the Epstein documents, and he was extremely angry that I had signed the discharge petition, she said in a preview clip released Friday.

I firmly believe the victims deserve complete transparency. They want everything released and they deserve that. He was furious with me, Greene continued. When Stahl asked how Trump responded, Greene said, He told me it would hurt people.

The dispute is the latest escalation in an ongoing rift between Greene, Trump, and several GOP lawmakers. Many were stunned when she announced on November 21 that she would resign from Congress and prompt a special election. Tensions had been mounting since she rejected Trumps explanations for not supporting broader disclosure of the Epstein records.

Trumps reaction was explosive, attacking her publicly, calling her Marjorie Traitor Greene and labeling her a ranting lunatic who had veered far left. Greene countered that his harsh rhetoric endangered her safety by inflaming his most extreme supporters.

The newly released 60 Minutes excerpt stands in stark contrast to her previous interview with Stahl in April 2023, during which Greene repeatedly made false claims accusing Democrats of enabling pedophilia.

In a resignation statement posted last month on X, Greene said she remained loyal to Trump and his America First vision but argued that loyalty must go both ways. She accused political forces surrounding him of treating her like a battered wife and favoring powerful interests including Neocons, Big Pharma, Big Tech, and the elite donor class over ordinary Americans.

There is no grand plan or secret strategy, she wrote. The political machinery of both parties is tearing this country apart.
