U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, Jeanine Pirro, sharply criticized Senator Mark Warner (D-Va.) for his commentary on the arrest of a man linked to pipe bombs discovered outside the Republican and Democratic offices in Washington in 2021, describing the senators perspective as unwise.
Perhaps he should focus on the fact that this investigation occurred under the Biden administration, Pirro said during an appearance on The Ingraham Angle on Fox News. Four years passed without resolution, so I dont want to hear this type of nonsense from the Democrats.
She later reiterated her stance, calling Warners comments completely foolish, with host Laura Ingraham agreeing that the Virginia Democrats statements were silly.
Pirro praised the Trump administration for giving priority to the pipe bomb probe and criticized the Department of Justice under President Biden for sidelining the investigation. Societys safety depends on people feeling secure, she stated. People feel safe when we hold criminals accountable, and that is exactly what we did.
Warner, in contrast, questioned the timing and resources of the investigation, noting that the arrest of 30-year-old Brian Cole, a Virginia resident charged in connection with the pipe bombs, followed pardons issued by President Trump to most individuals involved in the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack. Could this suspect have been caught sooner if resources hadnt been redirected? Warner asked during an appearance on MS NOW, previously MSNBC. He also referenced the events of January 6 and criticized the Trump administrations selective presentation of facts.
Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel, speaking at a press briefing, confirmed that no new leads had been received prior to Coles arrest. They emphasized that their team prioritized the case and attributed the lack of progress to the Biden administration. Patel highlighted that the FBI analyzed over 3 million lines of data to identify the suspect, reviewing all evidence thoroughly, an effort he claimed the previous administration did not undertake.
Investigators examined forensic evidence, including components purchased for the pipe bombs between October 2019 and November 2020. Cell phone records linked Coles device to towers near both party offices on January 5. The explosives were discovered about 25 hours later and were safely defused.
Darren Cox, assistant director in charge of the Washington Field Office, noted, Fortunately, these bombs did not detonate, but the alleged bomber did cause terror within our community.
On The Ingraham Angle, Pirro affirmed the DOJs commitment to seeing the case through, declaring, This case is solid, as solid as it gets.
