Recollection of Events: Ex-Miss Universe Contestant's Interaction with Donald Trump

In 2011, a photo of Angela Martini, a contestant in the 2010 Miss Universe pageant, seemingly receiving a kiss on the lips from Donald Trump went viral. Now, Martini is setting the record straight about the moment.

In an interview published on December 5, the 39-year-old explained that the image, captured during a Miss Universe photo shoot and press event at Chelsea Piers, was misleading. According to Martini, the camera angle created an optical illusion, making it appear as though they were kissing on the lips, when in reality, it was just a cheek kiss.

It wasnt true, though the picture looks odd, especially since another contestant has a shocked expression, Martini commented about the viral image.

Reflecting on her encounters with Trump and his wife Melania over the years, Martini described them as consistently polite and courteous. She noted, I always had a very respectful relationship with him. I never felt any bad vibe.

Martini also recounted meeting Trump backstage a year before the photo was taken. She said he was professional and respectful during the interaction, never crossing boundaries or flirting.

Martini, who earned the title of Miss Universe Albania 2010, eventually finished sixth in the 2010 Miss Universe competition in Las Vegas, Nevada.
