The sight of our Christmas tree outside No 10 is unforgettable

A worker from a Christmas tree farm described it as "special" to see one of his own trees displayed outside 10 Downing Street. This year's tree was provided by Cadeby Tree Trust in Leicestershire, following their recognition as the champion Christmas tree grower of the year at an event hosted by the British Christmas Tree Growers' Association (BCTGA).

The tree has now been beautifully decorated and placed in front of the prime minister's residence, even catching the attention of Larry the cat. Foreman Matt Allan-Stubbs commented, "I usually prefer trees that look more natural, but this one has been decorated wonderfully and looks very impressive." He added, "Considering all the years of care we have put into this tree, seeing it here is truly special."

Since 1979, members of the BCTGA of Great Britain have been donating a Christmas tree to Downing Street each year. Matt reflected, "Not everyone gets a real tree at home, but through this, we can share the spirit of Christmas with everyone. I spend countless hours working with Christmas trees, and even now, I never tire of it. This accomplishment is significant for all of us, not just me."

The story highlights the dedication and passion of those involved in nurturing Christmas trees and the joy of seeing their work celebrated on such a prominent stage.
