Authorities looking for witnesses following fatal e-bike collision involving boy

Police are searching for an important witness following a tragic crash that claimed the life of a 16-year-old boy riding an electric bike. The accident, which involved the e-bike and two cars, occurred on Chilwell Lane in Bramcote at 10:10 BST on 28 September. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is currently on police bail. Nottinghamshire Police are appealing for a Black male who stopped at the scene but has not yet been located. Authorities are also seeking anyone who may have dashcam footage or witnessed the vehicles immediately prior to the collision.

The victim's family is receiving support from specially trained police officers. Detective Sergeant Charlotte Henson of Nottinghamshire Police stated, "We know this potentially key witness stopped at the scene, but so far we have been unable to trace him. I urge him to come forward so we can take his statement. The boy's family have endured a heartbreaking ordeal, and we need to establish exactly what happened to provide them with answers."

Authorities continue to encourage anyone with information to contact Nottinghamshire Police.
