Christmas decorations taken from front yard

A York family has expressed their heartbreak after a set of Christmas inflatables was stolen from their front garden in Woodthorpe during the early hours of Friday.

Jason Fletcher explained that the decorations had been collected over several years as a fun holiday tradition for his children. Unable to afford replacements, he has made a public appeal for their return.

"Its really upsetting because I started this tradition when my kids were younger," Fletcher said. "We live close to Woodthorpe Primary School, and the children love stopping to look at the display on their way home from school."

The display included a 7-foot Santa, a 7-foot snowman, and another Santa emerging from a gift box. Usually, Fletcher sets up the inflatables on the garage roof, but this year he placed them in the garden to avoid constantly repositioning them when the wind knocked them over.

"I woke up this morning and they were gone," he added.

The family has reached out on social media for any information and asked neighbors to check their CCTV footage for clues.

"The post has already been widely shared, so hopefully it leads to something," Fletcher said. "The three inflatables are worth around 150 in total, and replacing them isnt possible for us right now."
