Jonathan Le Tocq, the former Chief Minister of Guernsey and current member of the States, has admitted to creating over 2,400 indecent images of children. Alongside this, he also pleaded guilty to charges related to extreme pornography and telecommunications offences in Guernsey's Royal Court. Sentencing is scheduled for a later date.
Le Tocq was apprehended by Guernsey Police on 21 July and subsequently stepped down from the island's senior political committee on 1 September, though he continues to receive his parliamentary salary. In the general election held in June, he secured 8,002 votes, finishing ninth, and was considered for the islands top political post but was ultimately not elected.
The case has attracted widespread attention as authorities continue to process the legal proceedings against the former politician.
