IDF conducts raids on offices of UAWC linked to PFLP in Ramallah and Hebron, makes arrests and seizes materials

During coordinated operations at the offices of the Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC) in Ramallah and Hebron in the West Bank on Monday, security forces detained eight individuals wanted by authorities, along with 14 others who had been summoned for questioning, according to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Tuesday.

The IDF, working alongside the Civil Administration, confiscated materials deemed incitement-related, as well as equipment and approximately NIS 700,000 in funds. The military emphasized that the UAWC is linked to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a designated terrorist organization.

Following the operation, soldiers fully sealed the main entrances of the UAWC buildings. The IDF highlighted that, although the organization publicly operates as an agricultural support entity, it has actively promoted terrorism and facilitated funding for terror activities. Reports suggest that some senior members of the UAWC have participated in attacks and publicly supported terrorist acts.

"While presenting itself as an agricultural aid group, the organization functions as an operational arm of the PFLP, advancing terrorist incitement and channeling funds for terror operations," the IDF statement said.

The IDF also noted that the UAWC was officially classified as a terrorist organization in 2021 due to its affiliation with the PFLP and is currently prohibited under law.
