Katy Perry Attends Diplomatic Lunch With Former Japanese Prime Minister Alongside Justin Trudeau

Katy Perry, known for her pop music career and role as a former American Idol judge, joined Justin Trudeau for a diplomatic meeting with former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko. The gathering took place on Thursday, December 4, and included a formal lunch.

A photo shared by Kishida on X captured both couples smiling in front of a decorated Christmas tree in an elegant room. The former Japanese leader wrote, Former Canadian Prime Minister @JustinTrudeau visited Japan with his partner and joined my wife and me for lunch.

Kishida, who currently serves in Japans House of Representatives, reflected on his past interactions with Trudeau, stating, During his time as Canadian prime minister, we met multiple times as fellow leaders. I am pleased that we continue to maintain this friendship in this way.

Trudeau responded warmly, saying, It was wonderful to see you, Fumio. Katy and I were delighted to share this time with you and Yuko. Thank you for your friendship and your dedication to the international rules-based order and a better future for all.

The couple, who began dating earlier this year, made their first public appearance together in late October in Paris. Despite their high-profile status, this marks their first acknowledgment of their relationship on social media.

Fans were quick to react, with one commenting on Trudeaus post, This might be the most unexpected public announcement in recent memory.
