Reportedly Uninvited Royal Family Member From Christmas at Sandringham

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor will not be attending the British royal family's traditional Christmas celebration at Sandringham this year. Instead, reports indicate he plans to spend the holiday season at Royal Lodge in Windsor.

In 2024, Andrew and his former spouse, Sarah Ferguson, were also absent from the Sandringham festivities. The decision marks a continuation of his reduced role within the royal family following his fall from favor.

Sources suggest that Andrew's exclusion is related to ongoing tensions within the family. If he were to arrive uninvited at Sandringham, insiders describe the situation as "suboptimal."

Last year, although both Andrew and Sarah Ferguson received invitations, they did not attend. At that time, King Charles emphasized the importance of family unity during the holiday season, while other family members, including Kate Middleton and Prince William, reportedly opposed Andrews participation in certain events, such as the annual "Together at Christmas" carol service.

Royal commentator Ephraim Hardcastle observed that while the celebrations are a family affair, there was "no space for Uncle Andy" at the 2024 carol event. The couple last joined the Sandringham holidays in 2022, shortly after Charles became king. Although an invitation in 2024 was seen as a gesture of reconciliation, relations have since worsened.
