Early this morning, a house on Melville Street in Sandown, Isle of Wight, suffered a severe exterior wall collapse, causing bricks and debris to crash onto two parked cars. Residents were compelled to evacuate the premises for safety.
Emergency services from the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service responded to the incident at approximately 07:30 GMT. Fire crews confirmed that an entire vertical segment of the wall had given way, extending from the roofline down to the ground and covering the driveway below.
The property has been secured, and authorities plan to conduct a full investigation into the cause of the structural failure.
