Seventeen-year-old boy set to face trial for Barnsley stabbing

A teenage boy, aged 17, has rejected accusations of attempted murder following a stabbing incident in Barnsley. Emergency services were called to a property on Regent Street at approximately 13:40 BST on 25 October, where they discovered both another teenager and a 42-year-old man with injuries.

The suspect appeared before Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday. Due to legal protections related to his age, his identity has not been disclosed. During the hearing, the court confirmed that his case is scheduled to go to trial in June.

South Yorkshire Police also confirmed that a 42-year-old man who had previously been arrested in relation to the same incident has since been released and will face no further action.
