Authorities in Copenhagen, Denmark, have detained two men accused of collecting substantial funds for the Palestinian militant organization Hamas, according to local police reports on Tuesday.
The first suspect, aged 28, was arrested Tuesday morning, while the second, aged 59, has been in pre-trial custody for some time, officials stated on X. Media outlets Ritzau and TV 2 reported that the individuals allegedly gathered around 5.7 million Danish kroner (approximately $886,000) to support Hamas, which is recognized as a terrorist organization by the European Union.
Investigators believe the funds were sent to the group either through a network of Danish-based organizations or from international sources. Both men have denied the allegations leveled against them.
