Authorities have taken a 47-year-old man into custody on suspicion of murder after the passing of 91-year-old Elizabeth "Betty" Clark in Rotherham.
Ms. Clark was admitted to hospital on 11 September after being discovered with injuries at her residence on Peveril Close, Kiveton Park, and she passed away on 12 November.
South Yorkshire Police confirmed the arrest on Friday, noting that the suspect has been released on bail while investigations continue.
Detective Inspector Adam Watkinson stated: "Betty was cherished by her family, friends, and neighbors. Our condolences remain with her loved ones at this very difficult time." He added that the family is receiving support from specialist officers, and the police are diligently examining the circumstances surrounding her death.
Investigators are appealing to the public for information, particularly from anyone who might have noticed suspicious activity in Kiveton Park on 10 or 11 September.
