Arrest Made for Attempted Murder Following Knife Attack

Two individuals have been taken into custody under suspicion of attempted murder after a man sustained a severe neck injury from a knife.
Authorities from North Yorkshire Police responded to Melmerby, near Ripon, around 23:40 GMT on Thursday following reports of an incident outside the George and Dragon Inn.
The victim, a man in his 40s, was transported to the hospital for treatment and remains under medical care.
The police confirmed that two men, aged in their 40s and 50s, were arrested in connection with the attack.
A police spokesperson stated that the parties involved were believed to be acquainted. Officers are continuing their investigation in the village and encouraged anyone with information to come forward.
Witnesses who were in the area on Thursday night and have not yet spoken to police are urged to provide any details they may have.
