Fox Business Host Praises Sydney Sweeney and Calls Republican Women Attractive

Katrina Campins, a host on Fox Business, suggested that women could become more attractive by joining the Republican Party, using actress Sydney Sweeney as an example of someone getting hotter by the minute.

Campins made these remarks on Jesse Watters Primetime on Wednesday, December 3, during a discussion about Sweeney. Host Jesse Watters mentioned the actress, referencing reports that she had received a so-called Mar-a-Lago makeover, which supposedly upset liberal commentators.

Watters aired a clip of former MSNBC host Krystal Ball commenting on Sweeney during the Ive Had It podcast with Jennifer Welch and Angie Pumps Sullivan. Ball criticized Sweeney, saying, She wants to appeal to these right-wing, ethnocentric white nationalists I find her embarrassing and pathetic.

Responding to Ball, Campins said, [Sweeneys] getting hotter, and theyre so jealous Shes so Republican, she gets hotter by the minute. My advice to all the ladies: our side is better, and you get hotter. She continued, All Republican women are hot! Tell me thats not true. Watters agreed, stating, It is true. When you register Republican, you just get hotter. Campins added, You do! Like fine wine, you get wiser and hotter with age.

Sweeney previously sparked controversy earlier this year when she appeared in an American Eagle ad campaign. In the commercial, she modeled jeans and remarked, Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color. My jeans are blue. Critics claimed the ad suggested eugenics and white supremacy, drawing national attention.

Reports that Sweeney was registered as a Republican prompted comments from former President Donald Trump, who said, If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic. Campins also praised the ad on social media, calling Sweeney unapologetically feminine, confident, and proud.

At the Toronto Film Festival in September, where Sweeney promoted her film Christy about boxer Christy Martin, she told Vanity Fair, I am there to support my movie and the people involved in making it, and Im not there to talk about jeans.

On the Ive Had It podcast, Ball noted that Sweeneys biopic had underperformed, saying, [Sweeney] thought this would be great for her career. It turns out they dont want to see an artsy movie about a female boxer whos a lesbian. According to Box Office Mojo, Christy opened on November 7 with $1.3 million, ranking No. 12 among the worst wide openings for films showing in over 2,000 theaters.
