Co-Creator of Mortal Kombat and Others Honor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa

Japanese-American actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa has passed away at the age of 75. He was widely celebrated for his portrayal of the menacing sorcerer Shang Tsung in the 1995 film Mortal Kombat and enjoyed a career spanning more than forty years in film and television.

Tagawa began his acting journey with Bernardo Bertoluccis critically acclaimed epic The Last Emperor. He died at his home in Santa Barbara, California, reportedly due to complications following a stroke, surrounded by his children.
