Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi's Reported Return to the US Faces Significant Obstacle

Just days after reports emerged that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were contemplating a return to the United States, their plans have encountered a significant hurdle. The couple had initially purchased a luxurious farmhouse in the UK, but soon decided to sell it in favor of a property better suited to their pets needs. The original estate was listed for approximately $30 million, after being bought for $20 million just over a year earlier.

Recent developments indicate that the home has suffered water damage. While earlier rumors of flooding were denied by DeGeneres, continuous heavy rain has now reportedly caused the property to flood, according to a real estate agent.

For context, DeGeneres and de Rossi first met in 2001 at a Rock the Vote concert but only began dating in 2004 after ending previous relationships. The couple became engaged and married in August 2008. Following Donald Trumps 2024 presidential election victory, they left all their California homes behind and relocated to the UK, citing political reasons for the move.

The flood at their UK farmhouse has emerged as an unexpected obstacle in their plans to move back to America.
