Madison shared her perspective on what it would take for her father to make amends, while Ysabel discussed her limited communication with him, highlighting her stepfather David Woolley's role in her life. On TLC's Sister Wives, Kody Brown embarks on an "apology tour" with his former spouses, as two of his children open up about their estranged relationship with him.
In Sunday's episode, Janelle Brown spoke with her daughter Madison, explaining that Kody had reached out to invite her to dinner, aiming to "extend the olive branch" following their separation. Janelle expressed skepticism, saying, "It was so strange ... I suspect it has something to do with the family and the kids. But I'm like, you don't need me. We're not friends. I'm not going to facilitate for you." She did acknowledge that Kody checked in on significant occasions, including the anniversary of their son Garrison's passing and his birthday, describing those interactions as "fine."
When asked whether reconciliation between Madison and Kody was possible, Madison responded, "I think there could be forgiveness. I am open to reconciliation and forgiveness and just closure," emphasizing that any return of Kody into their lives would require consistent effort over time.
Meanwhile, Christine Brown was seen enjoying a bowling night with her husband David Woolley and her daughter Ysabel, 22. Ysabel reflected on the start of her mother's relationship with David, admitting she initially worried about his role in their family. "I was worried mostly that he would take up the role of dad in our family, which, we have a dad. I thought he would take up too much space. He doesn't do that and he never oversteps," she said in a confessional.
Ysabel praised David's respect for her biological father and for her mother, acknowledging the delicate balance he maintains. She added, "My dad and I do not talk very often, no. Yeah. My dad and I aren't like close, close, close, close, but he's my dad and I love him." She also highlighted her mother's dual role, saying, "She's two people in one. She can be the dad and she can be the mom and she's perfect at it. And then David's awesome too."
The episode concluded with Kody reaffirming his commitment to the "Apology Tour" with his ex-wives, a storyline that will continue over the next four Sunday episodes on TLC.
