JoJo Siwa Shares What Sent Her to The Emergency Room Before Her Mall of America Show

JoJo Siwa shared that just hours before her Friday performance at the Mall of America, she had to be rushed to the hospital due to intense abdominal pain, discovering she had a ruptured ovarian cyst. If youve been keeping up with my life, yesterday was extremely chaotic, the singer and dancer explained in a TikTok posted on Saturday.

The 22-year-old said she had been feeling stomach pain for several days leading up to her Black Friday show. On the day of the event, the discomfort became so severe that it interfered with her breathing. Even taking a bath worsened the pain, causing her to start blacking out and feel nauseous. Siwa recalled being unable to dress herself because of the agony, prompting her mother to call 911.

When I suggested calling 911, my mom immediately knew something was seriously wrong because I usually handle pain very well, Siwa said. Paramedics arrived, and after she got dressed, they transported her to the hospital, where she received pain relief medication that helped her feel better. Once the medication kicked in, I started feeling amazing. I was even dancing on the hospital bed, she added.

An ultrasound revealed that one of her ovarian cysts had ruptured, causing internal bleeding. Siwa explained that the condition is expected to resolve on its own, but she will have a follow-up examination in a week. The main thing is to stay calm, and I was thinking, Right, I need to stay calm for a moment, she said. But I still had to get to my show.

She described the pain as excruciating but expressed relief in knowing the cause. The good news is that now I understand whats causing it, which brings a lot of peace of mind, she said.

According to medical sources, most ovarian cysts are harmless and usually disappear without treatment. However, a ruptured cyst can lead to internal bleeding, and strenuous activity may increase the risk. Siwa noted that although the emergency room had a long wait time, the doctors and nurses acted quickly, and she was treated within a few hours.
