Dr. Addison Montgomery is back! Kate Walsh, the beloved neonatal surgeon, is set to make a guest appearance in an upcoming episode of Grey's Anatomys 22nd season. The actress will reprise her iconic role in the episode titled "Strip That Down", scheduled to air on January 29, 2026.

Details about Addison's storyline and the episodes events are being kept secret, but fans can likely expect some dramatic twists, as the character rarely visits without stirring up excitement at Grey Sloan.

Addison Montgomery first appeared in the series during its inaugural season and became a mainstay in seasons 2 and 3. Kate Walsh continued the role on the Grey's Anatomy spinoff Private Practice (20062013), and has returned for select episodes over the years.

This upcoming 22nd season appearance marks Walshs first return since her multi-episode arc in seasons 18 and 19, which featured a tense storyline involving Addison and Tia, a pregnant resident, after a car accident. That arc ended with a complex C-section to save Tia's baby, with Addison improvising using a penlight to check the newborns breathing. Both mother and child emerged safely from that ordeal.

Viewers will now get a chance to see how Addisons life has evolved since her last appearance. The next episode of Grey's Anatomy will air on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 10 p.m. ET/PT, offering fans the first glimpse of what awaits their favorite surgeon at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
