Katherine Schwarzenegger Insisted on This Controversial Christmas Tradition Before Marrying Chris Pratt

Katherine Schwarzenegger recently opened up about the festive agreement she made with husband Chris Pratt before marrying him. Known as a self-proclaimed "Christmas queen," she shared her enthusiasm for both Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations. The couple are parents to daughters Eloise and Lyla, and son Ford.

Once Halloween ends, two groups emerge: those who savor the autumn season for Thanksgiving, and those eager to start Christmas celebrations immediately. In an interview with Fox News Digital, Schwarzenegger revealed she belongs to the latter group and even made Pratt agree to her early holiday traditions before their wedding.

Speaking to the New York Times on November 29, the bestselling author discussed the holiday pact she and the Jurassic World actor established before their June 2019 wedding. When asked about when she begins decorating, Schwarzenegger confirmed that November 1 marks the official start of her Christmas celebrations.

Yes, it was an agreement that my husband and I had prior to getting married. Christmas lights and Christmas music start November 1, she stated. She also admitted to relating to Mariah Carey, saying, The holiday season, like November 1, is my time. Its like my time of the year. Its my time to thaw from my icicle that Ive been living in and to really emerge as a Christmas queen.

While Pratt initially had to adjust to the early start of Christmas festivities, their children have fully embraced the tradition. My daughter Eloise recently said to me, Mommy, it goes Halloween and then right into Christmas, right? And I said, Absolutely. Thats my child right there. She gets it. So were aligned, Schwarzenegger shared.

Despite the early Christmas celebrations, Thanksgiving remains an important part of their family traditions. Schwarzenegger noted that her family enjoys Turkey Day even with Christmas decorations up. She explained that the holidays have grown even more meaningful now that they are celebrated with their children.

Chris Pratt, in addition to his children with Katherine, is also father to Jack with ex-wife Anna Faris, and was recently seen sharing a warm reunion with Faris on Thanksgiving.
