Princess Eugenie and Beatrice Missed Princess Kate's Annual Event Due to Father's Scandal

Princess Eugenie expressed her warm wishes to Princess Kate after she and her sister, Princess Beatrice, did not attend the yearly Together at Christmas carol service. The sisters, aged 35 and 37 respectively, posted on Instagram on Friday, December 5, the evening of the event at Westminster Abbey hosted by the Princess of Wales, confirming their absence.

Wish Bea and I could have joined our family for tonights celebration, Eugenie wrote alongside a photo of the invitation. Sending @princeandprincessofwales all the best for an unforgettable evening at this beautiful carol service. Such a heartfelt message of love and hope.

The Instagram post linked to the official event announcement shared on Prince William and Kates account, which introduced the evenings lineup of guests. The caption read: Tonights Together at Christmas Carol Service brings people together to celebrate the bonds that shape our lives. Among the attendees were well-known actors including Kate Winslet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Joe Locke.

While Eugenie and Beatrice have attended the service in previous years, they had prior commitments this time. Their absence has drawn attention in the context of their father, Andrew Mountbatten Windsors, recent controversies.

On October 30, Buckingham Palace confirmed that King Charles III revoked Andrews royal titles and honors. Additionally, Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, were required to leave Royal Lodge, where they had resided largely rent-free. Despite never facing criminal charges, Andrew has longstanding associations with the late Jeffrey Epstein, and further allegations have emerged following the release of Virginia Giuffres memoir. Andrew continues to assert his innocence and denies any wrongdoing.
